About PASTIC

Pakistan Scientific and Technological Information Centre (PASTIC) a functioning unit of Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF) under the umbrella of Ministry of Science & Technology is a national hub for collection and dissemination of scientific and technological information published in Pakistan. Abstracting and Indexing Service (AIS) was initiated by PASTIC back in 1960. Looking onto the dire need of the journal publishers as well as scientific community to have a single platform for journal archiving and accessing to fulfill the research gap in line with the national needs, the initiative of launching Pakistan's first National journals' publishers consortium was implemented under the development project titled "Development of National Digital Archive of Research Published in Pakistani Journals". The project is mainly aimed to archive and disseminate indigenous research content published in Pakistani Journals.

Core Objectives of the Project Are:
  • To develop National Consortium of the Journals Published in Pakistan
  • ICT infrastructure support to journal publishers for journal hosting, archiving, maintenance and backup services
  • Federated search of archived Journals through single online forum
  • Scanning and data entry services for Journals archiving
  • Capacity building of journal publishers and scientific community on digital content management and usage
